How I gained 1000 Pinterest Followers in less than 2 months

How I gained 1000 Pinterest Followers in less than 2 months

Pinterest is one of the many tools I use to help me build a great online business. Another amazing tool that is helping me succeed is my email list which has also helped me gain more followers. I have read so many times over and over that, if you want traction to your site, then you must use Pinterest. Pinterest is not a social media platform, instead, it must be used as a search engine like Google. Today I will be telling you how I gained 1000 Pinterest Followers in less than just 2 months. Lot’s of hard work, but I had help.

With millions of subscribers on Pinterest, it is one of the fastest and most used platforms out there. That’s why so many bloggers keep urging you to join it and hopefully start seeing some awesome results.

Just a little background about “Ladies Make Money Online,” this blog was started just in November of 2016. I wanted to create something that will bring me passive income while I stayed home to enjoy it. I also wanted this platform to be a platform that could help so many others achieve their dreams of working from home.

So why did I decide that I wanted to use Pinterest as one of my tactics to grow my blog? I decided this after doing some major research. A majority of my audience hangs out on Pinterest. So I needed to be on Pinterest to market and reach out to them by using my blog.

    • If you are new or have little to no traffic
    • If want to reach more clients, find out where they hang out, most likely on Pinterest
    • If you want more visibility on your work

  • Are you using this amazing tool but you still have not figured out how to properly use?
  • Are you not reaching your audience
  • Are you not getting traffic to your blog?

Remember Pinterest likes active users, this means you must be pinning a lot. I pin an average of 100 pins a day. And 30 to 40 of those pins are my content. But you can not spam Pinterest by pinning all 100 at one time. That’s why I use a scheduling tool.

Before we look into a scheduling tool, please ensure your account is optimized for capturing results by reading this blog: The Strategy you need to Grow your blog with Pinterest.

Back to the scheduling tool! A lot of bloggers believe that if you manually pin all your work then you should be fine. But this is where the problem comes in – consistency. You can’t just decide that to pin 10 pins at 7 am, another 20 at 10 am, maybe 10 more at 1 pm and the rest of the pinning in the evening.

In order to get the most out of any social media platform, you need to find out exactly when your audience is usually online. Depending on your audience, you might have people on Pinterest at lunchtime and in the evening before bed, that is between 8 pm and 11 pm. They are two scheduling tools that can tell you and determine exactly when your audience will be online: Tailwind and BoardBooster!

Not online will these tools help you get the most out of your Pinterest strategies, such as increasing traffic, but they will help you gain more followers as you will always be present and available when your audience is online.

We managed to increase our Pinterest followers in just less than 2 months by implementing a few strategies. Don’t get caught up on followers, focus on engagement and finding ways to increase traffic and your email list.

Using relevant keywords on your Pinterest profile will help you get found more in search engines. This includes using keywords on your profile name, Pinterest board titles, and descriptions, add it to your Pinterest graphics and your alt tag on your blog. Since I started implementing this strategy, my account almost doubled as my work was getting found.

Use Pinterest to get more traffic for your blog and grow your online business

When people land on your account, make sure your profile picture, account, and boards are on brand. I created cover images for my boards just so I can make it look on brand and easy to recognize. Another item you can brand, are your graphics. Pick 2 to 3 colors as well as fonts that will make your work recognizable. Don’t forget to add your website to your graphic image to keep with the branding aspect of your business. Overall, you want to make sure your account aesthetic is branded. It took me about 5 hours to get it all set-up.

The first board on my account is dedicated to my business. I actually named it after my business URL, but you can use just your business name. All my boards have a great description which helps me get found should people do a search online or on Pinterest.

I have a few Pinterest boards you can join, my most popular board is “Promote your blog” – and I get a lot of my blog traffic from this. Tailwind tribes are my all time favorite. The reach and traffic you get from it beat everything. And I only spend about 10-15 minutes on each platform per week. You can join my tribe here and you do not need to have an account! I barely touch my business on the weekend as this is family time, but I am still getting amazing traffic from using the Tribes feature and Boardbooster as schedulers.

I know a few bloggers that refuse to use a scheduler, but I am benefiting from it. I don’t see how I will remember to constantly pin to my over 30 plus group boards and pin to tailwind every single day during specific allocated times. Pinterest hates spammers, this means your pins need to be spread out throughout the day at the best time for your business. It is almost impossible to pin manually in order to catch your audience. I want my pins to show up on the smart feeds when my audience is online and both Boardbooster and Tailwind helps me with this. Because I am online when my audience is online, I am getting more followers every day. That’s about 50 followers per day!

Remember, you just don’t want followers, you want subscribers, traffic, and money in your account. These are the main reasons I use Pinterest. It’s also a fantastic way to find new bloggers to network with! How do you use Pinterest?

So what helped me get the followers that I now have? Boardbooster and Tailwind!

  1. I use to automate and manage my Pinterest account. Settled for it after looking a lot for a decent Pinterest manager tool. I like the way it intelligently learns and pins only pins relevant to my business to my boards. I normally schedule a week’s pins on mondays and it does the rest 😀 It does all the Pinterest-related operations on Auto-Pilot, so yes, it is literally my Pinterest Media Manager 😀
The ads keep coming up, so its a bit annoying, but other than that, PinPinterest is truly the tool you’d want if you want to rule Pinterest B-)

  2. wow im so glad i happened to stumble across this post. Pinterest is a market I really want to get my head round this year and this post is loaded will all i need to do that. Thanks 🙂

  3. Great blog lots of amazing information and I am now going to re-look at my Pinterest, I thought I had it going pretty well but it has not monetized so I am going to follow your tips. Thank you. Bookmarked so I can come back again and again.

  4. This is so much amazing info!! I am pinning this for later, lol! I need to make the time to sit down and do all of this setup, but I have been using pinterest as an afterthought 🙁

  5. Wow I have some work to do! I just signed up for Tailwind and I’ll start there. I also need to take your advice and focus on 2-3 colours for my profile. I’m thinking Hunter Green and Peony Pink 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
