Are you a blogger looking for ways to increase blog traffic? I have had so many amazing inquiries on how I managed to increase my blog traffic to 6,000 pageviews in less than Β 2 months. When I first started this blog, my goal was to record the strategies I would be using to eventually monetize it and earn up to $5000 per month. With this came the struggle of getting and increasing blog traffic. I officially launchedΒ “Ladies Make Money Online” in November 1st, 2016 and it is now December 13th, 2016 and I have over 6,000 views.

My blog is extremely new and I have about 25 blog posts already published and I plan to write up another 15 before the end of the year. My goal right now is to beef up the blog with enough evergreen content so that by next year I can post 3 times a week. Right now I am blogging about 5 times a week and it is extremely tiring. I have to research all my blogs, keywords, plan out what day to post a specific blog and then promote it. But it is worth it. When I look at my Google analytics to see my blog traffic, I can only see it going up, up and up!

If you read my last income report, I wanted to have about 10,000 page views by the end of December. Hopefully, Β I can hit that target with all the hard work I am putting into the blog. I will break down how I increase blog traffic to give you a better idea on what you can do on your own blog.Β

The steps that helped me increase blog traffic:

  • Promoting on social media platforms – specifically FacebookΒ
  • Sharing my work on social bookmarking sites (I give you more details on this on this blog-Β 10 Places to promote your blog after you hit the publish button)
  • My email listΒ (even though it is currently small, the group is helping me share it)
  • In my own personal Facebook group that I started
  • On Pinterest (I also started a group board and you can get details on joining it “promote your blog“.Β
  • I am also focussing on SEO and optimizing my blog as a way to help increase blog traffic.Β
  • And lastly, I am writing longer blogs. Not too long like some other bloggers. I am keeping it above 1000 words. I sometimes write up to 1500 words (like this blog- which is slightly over 1500) but generally stick to around the 1000 word mark. Google has mentioned that long posts do get ranked better.Β

What posts got the most views?:Β

These blogs helped me increase blog traffic. I try to study blogs that people love and then focus on writing more of those blogs. It just shows me that people want to know more about that specific topic and hence I should give them more of that. These are my most viewed blog posts.Β

How do I know that these are my most popular blogs? According to Google Analytics, these blogs keep getting the most traffic. I also look at the number of shares I get on a post as well as the number of comments.Β

What source of blog traffic is my number one referral?Β

Right now, Facebook groupsΒ bring me the most amount of traffic followed by Pinterest. I am currently working hard on Pinterest in order increase that traffic. I have joined about 25 Pinterest boards and I show my students how to join the right boards in my online course – Traffic Building Bootcamp!Β I knew I wanted to monetize my blog from the start and I have read so many bloggers say “If I hadΒ started implementing some of these ideas months I go, I would be at this point by now”. I did not want to be like that. I wanted to launch the blog with a bang and improve as I go. We are all making tweaks as we learn and grow. Don’t wait to perfect it. Make it good -branded and useful but don’t worry too much.

With this thought process in mind, Β I made the sacrifices of purchasing a few courses before launching, attended webinars and went running with what I knew. Don’t get me wrong, I have previous experience. I run another blog which is mainly wedding related. It is so successful that I decided to start another blog- this one. So yes, I do have some experience.Β

I still get a few blogs tell me that they are not ready to invest in XYZΒ because they do not have the audience yet. How are you going to get that audience? I learned everything I know by investing in myself and it has paid off. I don’t want to spend 6 months making lot’s of mistakes, giving up or just spending a hopeless amount of money because I was not willing to get it right from the start. If you want to increase blog traffic, then invest in the tools that will get you there.Β

Why would you want to increase blog traffic?Β

For me personally, I have a few reasons to why I want to increase blog traffic. I made the decision that I wanted to grow a tribe of followers, teach and help others grow. I don’t want you to make avoidable mistakes or spend between $3.00 to $20 on your blog hosting each month without seeing a penny back. Here are my reasons:

  • It will help me get more email subscribers
  • I will be able to make me more moneyΒ
  • I will be able to get more eyes on my workΒ
  • Help and inspire other bloggers
  • It’s purposeful and meaningful to me to help you grow your passion
  • I want to be able to turn this into a full-time gig

How I plan to use Pinterest to increase traffic?Β

In my course,Β Traffic Building Bootcamp,Β I focus on the different ways to get traffic. Putting your eggs in one basket won’t do you justice. Just the other day, Pinterest went through a weird stage and a lot of bloggers saw traffic go down. I did not. Because I have a strong SEO strategy implemented on my blog and I use other ways to continuously get traffic. But I will still continue to use Pinterest.Β

My strategies for Pinterest involves joining 30 group boards, pinning more frequently to the group boards and using an automated system. I invested in Boardbooster the second week of starting my blog and it has grown my Pinterest accountΒ from 0 toΒ 484 followers in less than two months.Β My goal is to get to 500 followers by end of December. Can I make it? Why not follow me :)?

I started with a FREE boardbooster account which allowed me to pin up to 100 pins. And then I upgraded to $10 as I plan to pin at least 200 pins a day. Yep, this helped me increased my other Pinterest account that is associated with my other blog. I plan to use the same strategy. If you are not sure about using Boardbooster, use the FREE trialΒ to see if you might like it!Β

My favorite tool with this is the looping tool. It brings old pins that you might have pinned a couple of weeks ago, right back to the top so that your new followers can see it. Pretty amazing. I am debating about adding Tailwind to my strategy plan. I will let you know. Be sure to follow me to see my progress.

Things that I will keep doing:Β

I am currently helping my Traffic Building BootcampΒ students increase blog traffic. My goal is to get them and myself to 100, 000 page views within 6 months. Within the next year, I want to have hit and gone above the 100,000-page view mark in terms of blog traffic.Β

I will continue signing up for courses that will help me make money online. With the traffic I build and the amount of great content I am putting out, I want to be able to make this myΒ full-time gig inΒ less than 6 months.Β

I signed up for Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course. Michelle of Β Making Sense of Cent is one of my role models. She makes over $50,000 a month on affiliates. She actually hit the $100,000 mark in the last 2 months. That is my goal.Β

I have also taken some of Melyssa Griffin’s courses and a few others in terms of growing my blog. I see these as good investments. Just like I invested in a college degree in myself, I see these as long-term investments. These courses are nurturing my business.Β

What’s next for the blog?Β

I will continue to increase blog traffic by implementing my strategies.Β I want to see a more consistent rise from here out. I will focus on creating great content, doing research and using the right keywords. Β The main goal for the blog was to monetize it. I didn’t want to wait to get it moving, so I started the process from day one! Why wait? To get more subscribers? More traffic? These things will continue to grow as you grow. So I believe my income should also grow alongside my blog growing. My online course on building traffic focusses on the different ways I increase blog traffic every day:

  • I talk about SEOΒ
  • Tools to get the perfect keywords
  • How to find the keywords that big blogs are ranking forΒ
  • Pinterest strategies and the perfect way to get into the popular groupsΒ
  • The exact process I use to plan out a blogΒ
  • What you must do once you get that trafficΒ
  • Ways to monetize your blog with your new found traffic
  • Collaboration opportunities
  • How to comment on blogs and get traffic sent to your site the right way
  • And much moreΒ
