Be realistic with your collaborations

While you might have your eye on the bigger prizes, it’s unlikely you’ll score your dream collaboration with Disney or a travel company right away.

Nothing is impossible, of course, but you need to manage your own expectations here. Make a list of brands and businesses you’d love to work with, including a good selection of local and smaller businesses to help you focus your pitches.

You can also sign up for blogging networks to find blogging partnerships for your online business. Just be realistic especially when starting out.

You do not want to pitch to brands for collaborations if you do not have anything attractive to offer them, that’s why I offer a great looking blog which always catches their attention.

Dress (virtually) to impress

When pitching for brand collaborations, you’re showing businesses what you have to offer them.

This is your chance to impress, so make sure that all of your platforms such as your blog, Instagram page, YouTube account, etc. all reflect you, your brand and what you have to offer.

Brands will want to know what your stats are, how many followers you have, what your engagement is like and other vital information – so get yourself a media kit to give potential collaborators all of the key info in one go.

If you want to get paid to blog and write articles from home, be sure you are completely ready to approach brands.

I personally found that once I had a paid feminine blog theme on my site it was easy to get paid to write online.

I could approach brands more easily and it was really easy to pitch to brands for collaborations as I looked more professional.

And guess what, brands were always happy to work with me and I could get paid to write about anything. All it took is to do a quick search on brands that collaborate with bloggers to find partnerships.

Make things easier with templates

Drafting those collaboration emails can really eat into your day, but you can save a lot of time and energy on your pitches by making the most of Microsoft Office templates.

Here you will find the brand collaboration email sample.

You’ll need to alter each document to suit the recipient, but having the basic info like your stats, your terms, etc. will help make things a lot easier. Ensure your brand collaboration proposal is outstanding.

The brands that collaborate with bloggers want you to normally have impressive pitches and a great site before they can consider working with you.

Offer a fuller package to brands looking for bloggers to partner with

Brands receive collaboration pitches from bloggers and influencers every day – what’s going to make yours different? While a blog post and some nice photos are great, if you can offer a fuller package – you might be more appealing to brands than the previous person who emailed them.

What about doing a YouTube video, or an Instagram live for the brand you want to work with? Sell your full package that includes all of your content platforms to bring the most appeal.

Brands and companies looking for bloggers want to be different, they want more exposure and you need to find a way to get them this.

Go online and look for brands looking for influencers and offer them an amazing package that they can not resist.

Don’t forget to follow up with Brands (but just the once!)

Brands get a lot of inquiries each day, and not just from bloggers like yourself. Sometimes an email gets missed, and sometimes they just need a push. Feel free to follow up on an email if needed to give them another opportunity to see what you can do, but don’t become that person who continues to pester the PR rep to the point where you’re blacklisted.

One follow up should be enough and if you still don’t hear back, take it as a ‘no’ on this one. As we mentioned brands are always looking for influencers, and if they didn’t get back they were not that impressed or you caught them at a bad time (budget).

Collaborations will become easier as your online profile continues to grow.

Boost your Instagram following to stand a better chance of landing those collaborations, as well as open up further ways to make money online.
