If you have a new blog or a blog that is barely getting any visitors or hits, then you should consider putting more effort into your SEO learning. Organic traffic is considered to be the best and easiest way to grab visitors and readers in the long term. When your visitors search for something online and they find your blog or content, they are more likely to convert into long-term clients. Typically a client will type a search term into Google and your blog should be among the few on the first page.

Keep in mind that building organic traffic does take a while to start working and lots of time is required. It takes about 6 months for Google to rank and to send visitors to your blog. That is why every post you produce must be of high quality and must have great SEO attached to it. This is the only way to turn your blog and website into an SEO machine and build organic traffic. This way you can start making money sooner than later.

Organic Traffic: How to increase traffic for your Blog & Website

Organic Traffic:

So how can you prepare your blog for long-term organic traffic? We have a few tips below. We did want to mention that they are other ways of getting traffic to your website. They are effective but you need to be more consistent. With organic traffic, your blog will naturally gain long-term traffic. But here are our other suggestions to getting traffic to your website:

Back to our strategies of getting organic traffic to our website and blog. With this strategy in place, we will be able to really start monetizing our blog in the long-term and hopefully get consistent money from it. If you want to know about our plans of monetizing our blog you can read it here “How I plan to make Five Thousand per month blogging!” If you are new to the blog and are considering starting your own blog, you can read our blog on how to start your own blog here: “How to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost!”

Here are the steps to ensuring your blog is set up for organic traffic and growth:

Use the right Keywords: You must do your research on keywords before you begin writing your blog posts. What do you want to be ranked for? What do you want your blog to be known for? I focus on a few things that are related to my niche. Come up with at least 10 great topics and use Google planner to find the Keywords that rank for this.

My blog is all about making money, Affiliate Marketing, Pinterest, list building and growing your blog. Some of the keywords I would search for will be based on my topics. You want to use the keywords that are high in search volume and low to medium in competition (so that you are not competing with the big bloggers).

Next, you need to optimize your website and blog: Now that we have a few keywords listed (put this in an excel spreadsheet) you should focus on optimizing your blog in order to succeed with organic growth. Use the list of your keywords when writing your posts. You want to utilize the keywords in the most natural way possible so that you are not penalized by Google for keyword stuffing.

Where should you use your keywords?  Let’s say you are going to be blogging about “Blogging Tips”? You want to ensure the following places have your keywords.

  1. You blog title – “The Ultimate Guide to great Blogging Tips”
  2. Your blog URL should contain the keyword – http://www.xyz123.com/blogging-tips
  3. The first paragraph of your blog should have your keyword – “Today our blog will be focusing on great blogging tips tactics you should be implementing.”
  4. Use the keywords in a few places in the body of your blog post (5-6 times depending on the length of your post. Use it a bit more if you have a longer post. I like to use it once for every 150 words I type).
  5. Use it on your sub-heading H2 and H3 at least once
  6. Your graphics and photos should also have your keywords. Name your graphic blogging-tips.jpeg instead of 12344.jpg. Don’t forget your alt-tag.

Get details about your website below:

Utilize your long tail keywords: Ensure you are utilizing long tail keywords in order to be found in search engines. “Blogging tips” is too broad and the competition may be high, consider adding 3 or 5 words to your keywords such as “blogging tips for female entrepreneur.” This way they are more chances you may rank. Don’t make it too wordy. Long tail keywords are driving more traffic as people are searching for long terms. If I wanted to know more about losing weight, this could give me hundreds and thousands of results in search engines. But searching for “how to lose 5 pounds in one week” might work. And if you utilized “How to lose 5 pounds” as your keyword, I might be able to find you.

Frequent blogging schedule: Blogging more frequently will help attract more organic visitors to your blog. Google loves it when you are frequently updating fresh content to your blog and website. The more often you blog, a more organic traffic you gain to your content. Your readers will love it and your blog traffic will only increase. Get on a schedule and stick to it. I would suggest blogging 3 times a week if you are new or trying to grow your traffic. This can be cut down once you are established.

High-quality content: Not only should you be blogging more frequently, but your content must be valuable and of high quality. You readers will only come back for more if your contents are educational and are useful. This will create more shares and more traffic. If you do not have quality information to write about, I would suggest not blogging at all for that week. Keywords should be used to get your work found and quality content is necessary to keep readers on your blog and to bring them back to it. Don’t forget to write longer posts. Anything above 1000 words is really great while other experienced bloggers aim for 2000-3000 words. This means you are thorough and proving lots of amazing information that your readers will love.

Guest posting: If you are thinking of seriously increasing your organic traffic, then you should guest post. This is a way to get backlinks and Google loves this. It shows how relevant your work is. If another blogger mentions and links to your blog on their site, this is also another way of building backlinks. You should also think of adding outbound links to your posts once in a while.

Using social media: You can also use social media to grow your traffic. Add social sharing buttons to your site to make it easy for your readers to share your work. Consider joining Pinterest groups and Facebook groups to share your work. Join these 10 amazing Facebook groups to grow your Business. Social media will also help get more eyes on your new content but consider SEO for long term strategies.

Utilize this guide to help grow your organic search engine. In due time, you will start seeing great results. Remember, SEO takes a while to work just like anything else. The more consistent you are the faster you get to see your results.
